Information You Send Directly
Search Entries
When you type a name or other detail into a sponsored search box, the entry goes to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and returns its own results. Carroll County Warrant Records does not store or log the search terms entered into that partner tool on its own systems.
Email or Other Messages
If you contact the site by email, the message may be kept so it can be answered. It is used within the site's team and is not passed to an outside party unless a legal duty requires disclosure. Avoid sending full birth dates, Social Security numbers, or driver's-license numbers in an ordinary message.
Technical Visit Information
When a page loads, the server may receive technical details about the visit, including an IP address, browser and version, device type, operating system, viewed pages, time spent, referring site, and page-view timestamps.
Cookies and Traffic Measurement
Cookies are small files stored by a browser. The site uses them and analytics services to understand traffic, such as which pages are used and where visitors leave. Browser settings can block cookies. Some page features may work differently if they are disabled.
How Visitor Data Is Used
Information described above may be used to keep the site available, route a sponsored search request to its provider, review which pages are useful, find technical faults, and show advertising that may match a visitor's interests. The site uses traffic information in aggregate to maintain and improve its pages.
It does not turn visitor activity into an official court file or warrant record.
No Carroll Warrant Database
This website does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of warrants or personal warrant records. It offers general directions to Carroll County public offices and court information systems. The Carroll Sheriff's Office, the courts, and the state court system maintain their own records under their own rules.
This is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Information about a visitor is not assembled into a consumer report or a profile about another person. For official court access, contact the clerk who holds the case; for public-body records, use the applicable Virginia FOIA process.
Outside Search Providers
The search boxes on some pages are operated by third parties. Information entered there is governed by the provider's privacy policy and retention practices, not just this policy. The site does not control how a partner stores or shares a query. Read the provider's terms before submitting a search.
Links Away From This Site
Pages may link to the Carroll Sheriff's Office, Virginia court portals, state laws, the regional jail, and other public resources. When you follow an external link, that organization's privacy terms apply. Review them before sending personal information.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to observe activity across websites and select ads. Those practices are outside the site's control.
Who May Receive Data
The site does not sell personal data. Information may be shared with the groups needed to operate the service or meet a legal requirement:
- Search providers that process entries submitted through their tools
- Analytics services that measure traffic and site performance
- Ad networks that place content on site pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
Steps to Protect Information
Standard security practices are used to protect information the site collects. No internet system can be promised fully safe from a breach or service failure. The site takes reasonable steps to safeguard data but cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
Children Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a minor's information is believed to have been sent to the site, it may be deleted after the issue is brought to the site's attention.
Separately, Virginia law restricts public access to many juvenile law-enforcement records. That rule applies to government-held case material, not only to online search terms.
Virginia Data and Public-Record Rights
Depending on the visitor and the information involved, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Va. Code § 59.1-571 et seq., may provide rights when its scope applies. A person may ask what personal data is held, request a correction or deletion, or opt out of certain processing where the statute grants that right.
Requests for official Carroll County court or law-enforcement records follow a separate path under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Va. Code § 2.2-3704, subject to exemptions. Contact the public office that holds the record; this website cannot provide or change that file.
Policy Changes
The policy may be revised when the site's practices change. The current wording will be posted here with a new effective date. Review it from time to time if you want to know how visitor information is handled.
